From the August 20th edition of The Caroline County Times-Record:

Saint Martin's Ministries received $3,000 from Centreville National Bank and Talbot Bank. For the last 25 years, Saint Martin's Ministries has been committed to meeting the basic human needs of impoverished people in the mid-shore. The money will assist with food, financial subsidies and helping homeless women and children. Pictured are Buck Duncan, president and CEO of Talbot Bank and Win Trice, president and CEO of Centreville National Bank, helping Sister Patricia Gamgort, executive director of Saint Martin's Ministries bring in canned foods collected by Centreville National Bank employees.

Saint Martin's Ministries
is sponsored by the Benedictine
Sisters of Saint Gertrude's Monastery
and located in Ridgely, Maryland.

The mission of St. Martin's Ministries, the umbrella for Saint Martin's Barn and
Saint Martin's House, is to:

Help meet the basic human needs of impoverished
people,
respect and affirm their dignity, and address
the root problems that perpetuate the cycle of poverty.

Saint Martin's Barn provides food, financial subsidies for housing, utilities
and medicine to low-income families of all religious affiliations.

Saint Martin's House offers a transitional residence for homeless women and children.

What makes Saint Martin's Ministries worthwhile is hopefully eliminating the choice between eating and paying rent.

Sr. Patricia Gamgort, Executive Director
